Humanity

Back in the mists of time, as a long-time fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I turned to my daughter one day and said, ‘I think it’s time there was more vampire fiction for adults.’ This was before Twilight and True Blood were a thing, and I wrote my story about a vampire who never wanted to be turned and who struggled to keep a hold on his human attributes, who struggled with the notion that he was turned into a monster. I called it, as you can see, Humanity.

Sadly for me – but maybe happily for the rest of the world, a new TV series came to air, called Being Human. As soon as I saw the title, I knew with a sinking heart that, not for the first time, I had missed my chance to bring back vampire fiction for a mainly adult audience.

Oh well. It’s not all doom and gloom, I really liked Aidan Turner with his stubble and moody glaring…

So here is a quick look my attempt at vampire fiction.
