Even though I’m a murder mystery author, I love writing poetry, and I find it cathartic to write about my feelings. Haiku are wonderful for this, as they are very short, so a manageable length, and they are traditionally expressive and contemplative. It’s conventional to have a line containing five syllables, followed by one with seven, then a line of five syllables again – so seventeen syllables in all. It’s great to write poetry in easy steps! Try it, and you’ll soon see how easy, rewarding and addictive it can be.

I mainly create haikus about my main concerns in life: writing, rain, cats, and emotions. Then I add a beautiful inspiring image, and I’m done! I hope you like these.
